Student Information

Welcome to the Maizeone Music family!!! As a student, you can be assured that you will receive the customized, personal attention that you will deserve from your instructor in whatever genre` you choose. Please remember, music instruction should be enjoyable and enhance your life with the wonderful world of music.

By all means, be prepared to have a good time at each session. Never be fearful or worried. Those emotional states will hinder your ability to learn. Your expectations of your own investment of time and energy are the most important thing. The instructor's job is to help you grow, learn and enjoy your progress by providing the information and guidance that will allow you to flourish as a musician or singer.

The instructor's expectatation is that every student rise to their own level of passion for learning. Basically, the student will dictate their own success by forming good practice habits and investing quality time in their instrument each week. As the old adage says, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink". That is so true in music study. You will be flooded with time-tested information and technique and it is the students responsibility to develop it with good practice habits.

Student Supplies:

Each student will need the "Concept Of Music" starter notebook. Although it comes with a few plastic sheet protectors, it would be wise to purchase a good supply of top-loading plastic sheet protectors at your local office supply store. We will build  the instruction book indivdually to fit the needs and progress of each student.

Each student should have a quality instrument to play with the proper accessories such as an elctronic tuner, capo for guitars, and a quality strap. Rental instruments are not available at The Music Outlet. The Music Outlet has special pricing on all of their instruments, so you ca be assured of getting the right price for your starter instrument..

Previously, students had access to online instructional material on the Maizeone Music website. Due to abuses by unauthorized non-students, that material will be made available again only when we are able to password protect it.

For more information, please call The Music Outlet at (865) 453-1031.

Policies and Procedures:

To avoid conflict and confusion please read the following closely. Should you have any questions concerning these policies and procedures, please contact the instructor before scheduling your session time. These policies and procedures have been instrumental in the longevity and stability of the instructor/student relationships at the Maizeone Studio and the success of the students.

All session scheduling is handled by the staff of The Music Outlet at (865) 453-1031. These fine folks work diligently to handle yor scheduling questions. Each student has a set and consistant time slot. It does not vary unless there are special circumstances and are approved or initiated by your instructor. Adults and home-schooled children are encouraged to utilize the hours before 3:30pm so as to leave available those folowing afteronoon session times for those in the public school system.

Missed Sessions:
Missed sessions are
NOT made up. Understanding that there are exceptional circumstances that arise, the rare option of rescheduling is solely at the discretion of the instructor. The staff at The Music Outlet will NOT re-schedule a session time without instructor approval. If you know in advance of a session time that will be missed, it is appreciated if you let the staff at The Music Outlet know, but it is not necessary. If for some reason your instructor finds it necessary to cancel your session time, your pre-paid session payment will be advanced to the next open/unpaid session time or rescheduled at another time. This circumstance is extremely rare.

School closings due to weather do not dictate studio closings. Call The Music Outlet for verification.
